Catalina Tapia is a fourth year student of the
Sociology degree at University of Chile who was born in Santiago de Chile in
March 1999. She is the oldest of two sisters and the first in her family to go
to university. She is defined as an average student with good skills to
understanding easily and teamwork. At present, Catalina is learning a third
language (other than Spanish and English) which she likes very much: Portuguese
and thinking about her seminar topic.
When she has free time she likes to exercise to
balance the time she spends sitting reading or studying. Recently Catalina
spends time cooking healthy recipes with her family because they are trying to
lead a healthier life.
Within their topics of interest are the social
reintegration, migration and rural problems. In the future she would like to
work in public sector, but also she would like to venture into the private
sector. Catalina has ambitious projects because with her formation she hopes to
be able to give back her knowledge to the population and contribute to improve
people’s quality of life. Also when Catalina finishes her studies she pretends to
work hard to be able to take her family on a trip to Rapa Nui.
